EVENTS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
I march in the parades and attend the openings of new businesses as much as possible. It is important to be involved in the community. I walk in the serious parades and the fun ones as well.
I attend the town events to honor veteran's and our police and fire. As well as the planting of the liberty tree to mark the 250th Anniversary of the US!
I am president of the Board of Directors for the NK Food Pantry & we are doubling the size of the Pantry due to the increased need for food. Thank you to all our donors!
I also attend many ribbon cutting ceremonies in town & at Quonset. I attend the school democracy nights, art displays and the recent Arbor Day celebration honor one of our teachers.
I attended the reopening of Gilbert Stuart's house and I am a Preservation member of Cocumscussoc, or as it is better known, Smith's Castle. I am also a member of HisWick, to preserve Wistoric Wickford. My husband & I participate in the annual Shamrock Shuffle. I attend the dedication of the labyrinth near Wilson Park.
I was a member of the NK School Committee for 8 years, so I understand the importance of the town and the school district working together. I attended graduation, democracy night, and the recent opening of the Electric Boat partnership with the high school.
